Jharkand is one of the 29 states in India and was carved out of the southern part of Bihar. The borders of the state Jharkhand are Bihar to the north, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh to the west, Orissa to the south, and West Bengal to the east.
Jharkahnd state was formed on November 15th of 2000. Ranchi is the capital of the state, Dumka, Jamshedpur, Dhanbad and Bokaro Steel city are the other important cities .

Places to visit in Jharkhand
Hundru Falls are located at about 28 kilometers from Ranchi, thecapital city of the state. The river Swarnarekha falls from a height of 320 feet. It becomes a wonderful and enchanting but formidable falls during the monsoon time. The same place becomes a picnic spot during the summer time.
Dasham Falls is located at about 40 kilometers from Ranchi. River Kanchi falls down from a height of 144 feet and gives you many enchanting sceneries in the area.
There are many more places to visit in the state like, Lodh Falls and Johna Falls
Baidyanath Temple, Rajrappa Temple, Ma Chhina Mastika temple, Tagore Hill, Kanke Dam, War Cemetery, Mc Cluskieganj, Tribal Research Institute and museum, Betla National Park, Hazaribagh Wildlife Sanctuary, Netarhat, Parasnath hill and Deogarh etc.
How to reach Jharkhand ?
Ranchi is the main airport and is well connected to the neighbouring cities like Kolkata, Patna. New Delhi and Mumbai are also well connected to Ranchi.
Ranchi and Hazaribagh are the two main railway stations. Both are well connected to the rest of India through railway net work. Reaching anywhere in Jharkhand is very easy through railway network as the neighbouring states remain connected.
National Highways pass through the city of Ranchi and the other places in the state are connected to the capital with good and drivable network of roads.
State Transport buses connect all the important places in the state and it is easier to travel from one place to another.
Jharkhand Tourism Development Corporation runs deluxe buses connecting Ranchi with all popular tourist destinations of the state.
